A note from our friends at Banyan Hill Publishing(ad)

Dear Reader,

Something strange just happened in Washington…

And, according to research by tech visionary Ian King, “it could hand the world’s richest man an unprecedented amount of power…

While making his backers a fortune.”

To explain all the details, King just released a stunning new presentation.

If his research proves correct, a single move by Elon Musk could reshape the monetary system… beginning in a matter of weeks.

In other words, Elon is about to ‘flip the switch.’

And investors who act today could see the single greatest wealth-building opportunity in decades.

We recently sat down with King – who’s called just about every twist and turn of Musk’s career… including an early bet on Tesla that returned up to 1,000% in a little over a year.

For the time being, you can get his take on Musk’s latest innovation, free of charge, right here.

Regards,

IonQ Goes Live at the NYSE at 12:30. One Number Could Move Everything.

At 12:30 p.m. Eastern today, IonQ CEO Niccolo de Masi takes the stage at the New York Stock Exchange and, for the first time in the company’s public life, has both the audience and the pressure to put a multi-year revenue number on the board. IonQ has already raised its 2026 guidance twice this year, most recently to a range of $280 million to $290 million, and yet the event is expected to produce something the company has never put in its guidance: a revenue forecast that reaches beyond the current year. That is the binary this session is built around.

Why This Moment Is Different

The SkyWater acquisition closed on July 31, 2026, establishing IonQ as a vertically integrated quantum platform company with internal ownership of design, wafer fabrication, advanced packaging, and system-level deployment. That closed deal changes what investors can reasonably demand from today’s presentation. This is no longer just a quantum software and systems company making promises about future hardware. SkyWater’s foundry capability is in-house, and the deal supports IonQ’s roadmap milestone of getting its first 200,000-qubit chips back from the fab in 2028. The playbook now has physical infrastructure behind it.

Second-quarter 2026 revenue surged 287% year-over-year to $80.1 million, exceeding the midpoint of the company’s previously provided range by about 20% and marking the company’s strongest quarter on record. Five consecutive quarters of record results give management something to extrapolate from. But every one of those figures stops at December 31. That wall is the entire tension of the next few hours.

Jefferies identified IonQ’s September investor day as the next major catalyst, which could offer investors greater visibility into the company’s strategy and growth trajectory. The firm flagged the event while lowering its price target to $75 from $85. Of the analysts covering the company, there are no sell ratings in the current consensus mix reported by major market-data services. Consensus is already leaning one way. What moves the stock is what happens when the actual numbers land.

The Options Angle

This is exactly the kind of event defined-risk structures exist for: a single session, a discrete outcome, and a stock that has been volatile enough to move 15% or more on a single catalyst. After peaking near $72 in early June, the stock declined sharply through June and July, bottoming near $32 in late July before rebounding following the Q2 earnings release. That roughly 40-point round trip in under three months tells you the options market has reason to price meaningful event risk into today’s expiration window.

A bull call spread expiring September 19 lets you define exactly what you risk while targeting a move that materially multi-year guidance would almost certainly produce. Buy the at-the-money call, sell one roughly 15% to 20% higher. You cap the upside, but you also cap the loss to the premium paid, and in a stock with this implied volatility profile, that discipline matters. If management delivers the number, the near-term strikes fill quickly. If it does not, you exit flat or close to it, with no open-ended exposure to the reaction.

The short side deserves equal attention. A bear put spread on the same cycle captures the scenario where today produces the usual qualifier: “we are not providing guidance beyond 2026 at this time.” IONQ has traded down sharply on ambiguity before. A spread with strikes just below current levels and a 10-day window is a clean way to express that view without unlimited downside.

What Would Invalidate the Thesis

A non-answer from management, meaning strong qualitative language with no financial targets, is the most likely disappointment. IonQ faces challenges including high operating costs and integration risk following the SkyWater acquisition, and the combined company’s cost structure is still taking shape as the deal is digested. If de Masi leans on that complexity as a reason to defer guidance, the market is likely to treat it as a signal rather than an explanation.

Watch the Q&A more than the prepared remarks. The presentation will have been scripted for weeks. The first question asking for a 2027 or 2028 revenue figure will tell you what the room actually learns today. That answer, or the absence of one, is what this trade is about.
