COP Reports November 5. Perovskite Is the Subtext.

On October 6, researchers at UNSW Sydney and Chinese module maker UtmoLight set a certified large-scale perovskite efficiency record that most COP shareholders will never read about. The UNSW team achieved a certified stabilised power conversion efficiency of 23.5% for a large-area perovskite solar submodule, beating the previous benchmark by 0.6 percentage points. More important than the number is the substrate: the result was set on a 30x30cm perovskite submodule with an aperture area of 676cm², narrowing the efficiency gap with small-area laboratory cells that are typically only about 1cm². That is the gap that has kept perovskite confined to academic papers. Closing it is what makes investors pay attention.

The AI Boom’s Most Profitable “Tollbooth” Stock?

A little-known company is quietly building what may be the closest thing to a virtual monopoly the AI era has ever seen.

Whitney Tilson – the man CNBC calls “The Prophet” – calls it the world’s most profitable tollbooth. One billionaire put more than half his $9 billion fund into it.

Right now it’s trading at a rare discount…the same kind that’s previously turned $10,000 into $55,000…in just over 12 months.

The UNSW-UtmoLight partnership achieved the world-record result while removing the conventional nickel oxide layer, which is commonly used in perovskite solar cells to help prevent electrical short circuits but can also react adversely with the perovskite material, contributing to instability and adding another manufacturing step. Removing that layer is not a cosmetic tweak. It is a manufacturing cost story, and cost is the variable that determines when perovskite threatens legacy energy economics at scale.

Which brings ConocoPhillips into frame. ConocoPhillips says it remains committed to creating long-term value while responsibly meeting global energy demand and working toward its emissions-reduction targets. That language is standard investor relations boilerplate. What it obscures is that COP has made clean-tech-adjacent venture bets: ConocoPhillips has disclosed investments that include Avnos and Ekona Power. The logic of hedging a fossil-fuel core with venture exposure is not new for majors. The perovskite acceleration makes that hedge more urgent than it was twelve months ago.

The Ultimate Passive Income Play

The #1 income play for 2026 is NOT a stock, bond or private company…

Rather, it’s a little-known alternative investment that could hand you a double-digit yield from oil.

Find Out What It Is Right Here

In July 2026, LONGi announced a perovskite-silicon tandem cell certified at 35.5% efficiency by the European Solar Test Installation, a record that eclipses what silicon alone can theoretically reach. Meanwhile, the perovskite solar cells market is projected to grow from roughly $137 million in 2026 to over $3.2 billion by 2034. The compounding here is the kind that historically reshapes supplier economics in commodity energy markets.

The options angle is not a simple directional bet on COP moving higher because solar got efficient. It is more structural. COP is scheduled to report Q3 results on November 5. Last quarter, it reported adjusted earnings per share of $3.24. Analysts’ EPS estimates for the November 5 report vary by source, so treat any single number as a snapshot rather than a fixed point. The stock closed at $141.73 on October 15. With a hard earnings catalyst three weeks out, implied volatility on COP options will reprice into the event, and the thesis is not earnings alone. It is that any capital allocation signal toward clean-tech venture activity on the November 5 call reframes how the market values COP’s long-duration assets against a technology curve that is compressing faster than energy analysts modeled. A bull call spread expiring in December, positioned above current resistance, lets you define the risk before the report while keeping asymmetric upside if management acknowledges the energy transition bet explicitly. If they say nothing, the crude production story carries the stock near term. If they do, the re-rating has room to run.

Undiscovered Sub – $1 Gold-Silver Royalty Stock Takes Flight

Gold and silver are in a powerful bull market – and one little-known sub – $1 royalty stock is entering its biggest growth phase yet. The company is already generating record revenue from producing gold and silver mines and has just announced the largest transaction in its history. Better still, a powerful strategic relationship provides direct access to a steady pipeline of deals across the global mining landscape. And the smart money is already paying attention.

Get in early while shares are still below $1.

The commodity curve underneath this trade extends beyond crude. Uranium and copper are repricing on structural energy-transition demand in ways that compress the timeline fossil-fuel majors once assumed they had.
